Chicco Bravo For 2 Stroller Details

The Chicco BravoFor2 is a tandem-style stroller that carries two children at once. A younger child rides in the padded front seat. The older child can sit on a fold-down youth seat or stand on a rear platform. The manual explains how to assemble, use and fold the stroller, and it repeats the safety warnings at every step. Chicco advises reading the labels and the full manual before first use and keeping the manual for later reference.

Assembly starts with standing the frame on end and unfolding it. Chicco suggests doing this on carpet so hardwood or linoleum floors don't get scratched. Press down on the front edge of the seat until you hear a click, which means the frame is locked. Next, line up the rear axle with its mount so both snap buttons engage. The axle bar must sit below the standing platform. Then flip the stroller over and rotate the two platform levers until they rest on top of the axle.

Each rear wheel slides onto the axle and is turned until the brake tab sits in one of its grooves. Then add a washer and push the pin's straight side through the axle hole, so the curved end wraps around the outside of the axle. A snap-on hubcap covers the washer and pin. The front wheels click into the front legs. They come off again with a release button just above each wheel, which helps with storage or cleaning.

The child's tray clicks into openings on the frame and comes off with buttons on its sides. It must be removed before you attach a Chicco infant seat. The canopy fastens with two clips. Each clip's hole must be centered over a rivet on the frame. Pull the front edge forward to open it. The rear flaps fold under so the older child can stand on the platform while the canopy is up. You don't need to remove the canopy in infant seat mode.

For the older passenger, the youth seat folds up to free the standing platform. The child must face forward, hold the handles behind the front seat backrest and keep both feet on the platform at all times. Children must never stand on the seat. On the front seat, you adjust the shoulder straps with sliding buckles. You adjust the waist straps by pressing the tab on the waist clip. To release the harness, press the center buckle button.

For infant seat mode, fold the backrest completely forward. Then guide the foot end of the carrier along the support bar until both sides click into place. Pull up on the seat to make sure it is locked. To remove it, squeeze the release handle on the back of the seat and lift. The accessory pocket attaches to the parent tray with fabric flaps, hook-and-loop fasteners and a plastic tab that tucks into a groove.

To fold the stroller, remove the infant seat, tilt the backrest forward, push the release button with your thumb and pull up the fold handle. The legs and push handle fold down into a compact shape. Wipe plastic parts with a damp cloth, and dry metal parts after contact with water to prevent rust. Keep the wheels and sliding parts free of sand. Store the stroller somewhere dry, because long exposure to sunlight can fade the fabric.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can't find the answer you need? Here are some frequently asked questions about the Chicco Bravo For 2 Stroller, and we answer them below.

How much weight can each child be on the Chicco BravoFor2?
Each child should weigh no more than 40 lbs (18.1 kg) and be no taller than 43 inches (109.2 cm). The two children together should not weigh more than 80 lbs (36.3 kg). Going over these limits puts too much wear and stress on the stroller.

At what age can a child use the standing platform?
Chicco recommends the platform for children who are at least 2 1/2 years old and have good balance and coordination. The child must face forward, hold the handles behind the front backrest and keep both feet on the platform.

Which infant car seats work with this stroller?
Only Chicco infant seats, such as the Chicco KeyFit, can be used. Infant seats from other brands can lead to serious injury or death. The infant seat fits rear-facing only, so the baby faces you while you push.

Do I need to remove the child's tray to attach an infant seat?
Yes. Remove the child's tray and fold the backrest completely forward before you attach the Chicco infant seat. You don't need to remove the canopy.

How many recline positions does the seat have?
The backrest has 2 positions. To change it, pull up on the back lever. It can also fold completely forward so you can attach a Chicco infant seat.

What type of harness does the front seat use?
The front seat has a 5-point safety harness, and the shoulder straps can be set at 3 heights. Always use the harness slot just above the child's shoulder line.

How is the child in the youth seat secured?
The youth seat has a 3-point harness. Wrap the waist straps around the child, insert the clips into the crotch buckle and tighten the straps with the tab on the waist clip until they fit snugly.

How much can I put in the storage basket and trays?
The storage basket holds up to 10 lbs (4.5 kg). The parent tray and cup holder hold up to 3 lbs (1.4 kg). The storage pocket under the youth seat holds no more than 1 lb. Never hang bags from the handle or canopy.

How do I apply the brakes?
Push down on the brake lock levers on each side of the rear wheels to lock them. Pull the levers up to release them. Never leave the stroller on a slope with a child in it, even with the brakes on.

Can I jog with the Chicco BravoFor2?
No. The stroller is meant for walking speed only. Don't use it while jogging, skating or running. Never use it on stairs or escalators.

How do I remove the front wheels?
Press the release button just above the wheel and pull the wheel off the frame at the same time. Repeat on the other side.

How do I fold the stroller?
First remove any infant seat and tilt the seat backrest forward. Then push the release button with your thumb and pull up on the fold handle. The legs and push handle fold down so the stroller becomes compact.

How should I clean and maintain the stroller?
Follow the care label for the fabric parts. Wipe plastic parts with a soft, damp cloth, and dry metal parts after contact with water to prevent rust. If needed, lubricate moving parts lightly with a silicone-based lubricant. Keep the wheels free of dust and sand.
