Electrolux  EWW8024D3WB Dryer Details

The UltimateCare 300 control panel has a program knob that turns in either direction, plus touchpads for temperature, spin, dryness level, timed drying, delay start and extra rinse. A dedicated Mode touchpad switches between Wash-Only (the default), Wash + Dry and Dry-Only operation. If the selected mode or option doesn't work with the chosen program, a warning symbol flashes and the buzzer sounds. To change the mode of a program that is already running, you have to switch the machine off.

Drying can be controlled automatically or by time. In automatic mode, the Dryness Level touchpad uses sensors to deliver Extra Dry for towels, Cupboard Dry for items stored without ironing, or Iron Dry for sheets and shirts. Time Dry lets you set a fixed duration instead. Each drying cycle ends with an unheated cool-down phase and then an anti-crease phase of about 10 minutes. If you set only 10 minutes of drying, the machine runs just the cooling phase.

The Hygienic Care touchpad adds about 30 minutes of tumbling in vapour after the rinse. It works only with temperatures from 40°C to 90°C. The vapour is produced below the drum and rises into the clothes, so you may not see it, and it works best with a half load. Rinse temperatures are higher when this option is active. Vapour coming out of the drain hose is normal. At the end of the cycle, clothes are warmer, softer and loose from the drum.

For heavily soiled items, the Soak option soaks the load before the main wash. To turn it on, hold Extra Rinse and Delay Start together for about 2 seconds. Put the soak detergent in the Prewash compartment. Soak adds about 50 minutes to the program and uses more water. Cold water is recommended because hot water can set some stains. The Extra Rinse option adds two rinse phases and is recommended for people allergic to detergent and for areas with very soft water.

The Add Clothes function lets you pause the program and add garments while the matching icon is shown on the display. The Child Safety Lock is turned on by holding Hygienic Care for about 3 seconds, and it stays active after the machine is switched off. You can mute the end-of-cycle buzzer by holding Dryness and Delay Start for 3 seconds. Error beeps are never muted. With Rinse Hold, the machine automatically drains and spins after about 18 hours if no one presses Start/Pause.

About 15 minutes after the start, the load-sensing system adjusts the displayed program time to suit the type and size of the load. Near the end, the remaining time may suddenly drop from 7 minutes to zero, which is normal. An electronic unbalance detector redistributes the laundry by turning the drum in reverse. If the load is still unbalanced after 10 minutes, the machine does not spin. To save energy, the Auto Off function switches off the display after 5 minutes without any input.

For maintenance, use the Tub Clean program regularly, especially after drying fluffy items such as new towels. Clean the drain pump filter after each drying cycle and clean the water inlet filters from time to time. If the door stays locked after a power or appliance failure, you can open it with the red emergency unlock strap behind the filter door. In freezing conditions, drain the inlet hose and the pump.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can't find the answer you need? Here are some frequently asked questions about the Electrolux Ultimatecare 300 EWW8024D3WB Washer-Dryer, and we answer them below.

Why must the water tap stay open during drying?
The appliance dries using the condensation principle. It uses water to condense the moisture, so the tap must be open and the drain hose must empty into a sink or drain pipe, even during the drying cycle.

Which programs can be used for washing and drying?
According to the program chart, you can dry with Cottons, Mixed (up to 3 kg), Energy Saver, Spin, Rinse + Spin, Full Wash 60 (up to 4 kg) and WashDry 60 (1 kg). Delicates, Bedding, Baby Care and Quick 15 are wash-only programs.

What should I do before using the machine for the first time?
Remove all packaging and the three transit bolts. Pour 2 litres of water into the main wash compartment to activate the drain system. Then run a Cottons cycle at 90°C with no laundry inside to remove manufacturing residue.

Why is there water in the machine when I unpack it?
This is water left over from a full functional test at the factory. It is normal and not a cause for concern.

How do I activate and deactivate the Child Safety Lock?
Press and hold the Hygienic Care touchpad for about 3 seconds until the lock icon appears on the display. While the lock is on, pressing any touchpad makes the icon flash 3 times with a buzzer sound. The lock stays enabled after the machine is switched off.

What type of detergent should I use?
Use only a low-sudsing detergent made for front loaders, labelled "Front Loading", "high efficiency" or "HE". Top-loading, handwash or soap-based detergents cause too many suds, longer cycles, low spin speeds and poor rinsing.

Can I use liquid detergent with Delay Start?
No. When you use liquid detergent, set the detergent flap to the down position, don't fill above the maximum level, and don't use the Delay Start option.

Why won't the door open?
The door stays locked while a program is running, while there is water above the bottom edge of the door, while the machine is heating or while the drum is turning. Pause the machine and wait for the door lock icon to go off. If there is still water in the drum, drain it first.

How do I open the door after a power failure?
Make sure the water and laundry have cooled, the water level is low and the drum has stopped. Switch the machine off and unplug it. Remove the filter door, then pull the red emergency unlock strap downward while you pull the door handle.

Why didn't the machine spin?
The electronic unbalance detector has stopped the spin because the laundry is unevenly distributed. If the load is still unbalanced after 10 minutes, the machine won't spin. Redistribute the laundry by hand and select the spin program again.

How high should the drain hose be installed?
The drain hose must be at least 60 cm and no more than 90 cm above the floor. Its end must be ventilated, and the hose must not be twisted or curled.

Why does the displayed time stay frozen at the end of drying?
The machine is optimizing the drying cycle for the type of laundry and the load size. The time may stay frozen for more than 30 minutes. This is normal and does not affect performance.
