HP Deskjet 3755 Printer Details
The HP Deskjet 3755 is a compact all-in-one model in the HP DeskJet 3700 series. It is controlled from a simple control panel with a small display. The display shows the number of copies, wireless signal strength, Wi-Fi Direct status, paper errors and estimated ink levels for both cartridges. There are dedicated buttons for Information, Resume, Cancel, Wireless, Wi-Fi Direct and Web Services. Pressing some of them together prints reports; for example, Wireless plus Information prints the wireless test report and the network configuration page.
The printer can tell whether paper is loaded and whether the stack is large, medium or small in width. You can change the default size assigned to each width from the embedded web server. When a problem happens, the copies icon alternates between the letter E and a number. E1 means the paper is too narrow for the job, E2 means the paper length doesn't match, E3 means the carriage has stalled, E4 means a paper jam, E5 means a scanner fault and E6 means a general error state.
For shared spaces, Quiet Mode slows printing down to lower noise without reducing print quality. It only applies to plain paper at Normal quality. You can turn it on from the Windows software, from HP Utility on OS X or from the embedded web server. To keep the cartridges from drying out, HP recommends always turning the printer off with the Power button and waiting until its light goes out.
Copying and scanning use a sheet-fed scan path instead of a flatbed. You insert one original face up against the right side, and it feeds in automatically when the scan light comes on. Pressing a copy button several times within two seconds increases the number of copies. On Windows, HP Scan saves to PDF or JPEG, sends scans by email and lets you create your own scan shortcuts. Webscan lets you scan through a web browser without installing any software.
When the printer is online over Wi-Fi, Web Services turns on HP ePrint. This lets you email documents to the printer's own address from anywhere. You can manage the print queue and who is allowed to print through HP Connected. Web Services does not work over a USB connection. The embedded web server gives you access to settings, energy options, security and Webscan through a network address, or at 192.168.223.1 when connected over Wi-Fi Direct.
By default, Wi-Fi Direct uses Automatic connection security with no administrator password, so anyone within wireless range can connect to the printer. If you need more security, HP recommends switching to Manual and setting an administrator password. The Windows driver also offers booklet printing, several pages per sheet, page borders, grayscale printing with black ink only, HP Real Life Technologies image enhancement, Maximum DPI printing and printing shortcuts you can save and reuse.
If one cartridge fails or is removed, single cartridge mode lets you keep printing with the remaining cartridge. The software includes tools to align and clean the cartridges and to print a diagnostics page. HP warns that cartridges should not stay out of the printer for longer than 30 minutes while you clean their contacts.
